Labor Day Weekend at Lake Crescent. What more can I say. Perfection no matter how it goes down. This photo was taken on Barnes Creek, below Marymere Falls. The light was perfect. Soft sun streaming through the second-growth forest, illuminating the hanging moss and turning leaves. Leaf mold littered the trail. The water was fast and chatty; lots of great trees had come down this year and damned the usually clear creek, birthing eddies and contemplation about why the trees had come down.
It got too hot and we had to take off our jackets. But then it started to rain. So we pushed on, taking in the full train and enjoying our time in the old-growth forrest.
I love it there.
