Mike reports this evening that Val continues to improve. She is awake and moderately coherent in between the pain killers! Another long day of waiting, but it is all good news. Valerie was finally taken into surgery tonight to remove the sponges. The bleeding had stopped and they were able to sew her up permanently. She will remain on the ventilator and sedated for another day or two to give her body a chance to [...]

I know it has been a long day/night as we have waited to hear about our dear friend Val…she is currently recovering in ICU and while it has been a very difficult surgery she has done well. The surgery started late and took 8+ hours.
